TNT @ 50 Summits: How We Get to 500
As of November 27, 2025, Startup TNT will have executed 50 Investment Summits.  Once current deals close, our total capital deployed will exceed $20M into 120+ companies. Well over 500 Angel investors have invested with us, many of them writing their first cheque with Startup TNT.
This is a massive accomplishment. One that we plan to celebrate with vigor in November. It has also equipped us with the knowledge and experience to run pre-seed investments more effectively than just about anyone: We’re the most active pre-seed investor in Canada. Now is the time to start taking the best parts of our model and incorporating them into communities all around the world.
Our Vision has not changed from the day we started: 100 TNT communities spread out across the globe deploying $100M worth of startup capital every year.
To achieve our vision, we need an operating model that is explicitly anchored in each community. One where each community owns the successes and the direction of their TNT Chapter. It needs to take in the operating lessons gained from running 50 Investment Summits as well as the original ethos of TNT: a community-driven movement that believes local founders deserve the support of local investors. Over the next 8 months, we are going to implement a new model for TNT, using our bedrock communities as a testing ground. We have been workshopping these models to see what fits best in each of our regions and, with our new Executive Director, CK Dhaliwal, we are implementing the changes we had announced last November.
We’ve been chatting about this moment for months. And we are sharing it with our broad community because we will start implementing it earnestly starting today. Consider this our pledge to hold ourselves publicly accountable to our communities to implement TNT in a way that withstands the test of time. Our goal is to ensure that the benefits TNT brings to founders, investors, and the local economy survive for generations to come.
So what does the new TNT operating model look like? It has two fundamental changes:
The classic Investor-Lead role is being phased out and eventually replaced by a more administrative community manager role. This will be supported by a local board of directors and champions, deeply connected to the fabric of the community. We expect to see many familiar faces involved in these boards as the they take shape over the next few months
TNT will be anchored to each community either in a locally established not-for-profit or housed within a local innovation engine.
We are excited to implement these changes. We will be using our happy hours and newsletters to provide informal, fun, and regular updates on how they are progressing. We do have one question for our community: How can you help us get to Startup TNT into 100 cities and communities? Our local TNT Leads will be reaching out to their communities this week to start discussing how you can get involved in the next phase of our journey and what these changes mean for you.
For now, enjoy Summits 48, 49, and 50. Stay tuned for more details as we transform TNT for the better and please do not hesitate to reach out to our Executive Director, CK Dhaliwal at ck@startuptnt.com, if you have any questions about this transition.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working with our communities on building a better TNT for everyone.
